Meet Ya-Chun “Christine” Wang, DDS, MSD

Dr. Christine spent a significant amount of her childhood in Taiwan. She speaks fluent English and Chinese. She enjoys interacting with families from diverse backgrounds, cultures and unique situations. After lots of moving, she and her family are finally settling down right here in the Redmond Ridge area.

Her Journey Towards Becoming a Pediatric Dentist

During her dental school training at the University of Washington, she realized her silliness and fun manner were well suited for kid’s dentistry. The desire to make kids laugh during dental visits and her thirst for knowledge in children’s oral health were the driving forces for her to complete two additional years of education.

She received her certificate in pediatric dentistry and a Master of Science in dentistry from the University of Washington, where she gained a wealth of experiences working with medically compromised children, kids with special needs and children in emergency situations due to dental infection or trauma.

After residency, she successfully completed rigorous exams to become a board-certified pediatric dentist. As a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, she is dedicated to providing the best care possible for your children and family through her warm and charismatic manner, excellence in communication skills and specialized knowledge in pediatric dentistry.

A Patient and Family-Centered Care Philosophy

While Dr. Christine enjoyed working in private practices in various communities, she dreamed of opening her own practice in order to administer care based on her own treatment philosophies. Most of all, she wanted to start a practice where the guiding principle was tailoring the treatment experience of each patient and their family with their specific needs.

“I feel very honored and have a great sense of responsibility the moment when parents hand over their children to me. I treat every child the way I want mine to be treated. The ability to gain trust from the families and seeing them happy is the best part of my job.”

Dr. Christine also serves immigrant families. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Going Above and Beyond

As an American board-certified pediatric dentist, Dr. Christine enjoys having fun with children and helping them to enjoy the actual experience of their visit.

“My goal is to make it fun and not anxious. I aim to foster good relationships with the families by getting involved and knowing them personally.

“As important as it is to maintain healthy smiles for your children, it is as important for me to safe-keep children’s psychological and emotional well-being. I want them to have a happy visit.

“Just like parents teaching our youngsters many lessons in life, part of my goal as a pediatric dentist is to equip children with skills in maintaining good oral health and to guide them through treatments for restoring smiles, if needed. Best of all, I want them to be happy. I feel like I’ve done my job right if I can have them walk out of the door smiling and wanting to come back for more visits.”
